How Secure eMarkaz is?
Security is probably one of the most significant
concerns for both the shopper and the retailer
during an online transaction. In reality an
online transaction is probably more secure than
a card transaction in a shop or conducted over
the telephone or by fax, as the information
transmitted online is highly encrypted using
complicated logarithm combinations. To ensure
the security we at eMarkaz do not save the
credit card numbers in our database, and we
use the third party payment processing system of
WorldPay.com and PayPal.com
At eMarkaz, we process your order request
(before the payment page) on SSL Secure server.
The privacy of communications between you (your
browser) and our servers is ensured via
encryption. Encryption scrambles messages
exchanged between your browser and our online
secure server. Encryption makes it impossible
for unauthorized people to view information
traveling between computers, it is therefore
very unlikely that anyone read this page as it
traveled across the network.
There are two general indications of a
secured web page
1) Check the web page URL
Normally, when browsing the web, the URLs (web
page addresses) begin with the letters ''http''.
However, over a secure connection the address
displayed should begin with ''https'' -
note the ''s'' at the end
2) Check for the ''Lock'' icon
In order to ensure a connection is secure, your
browser will inform you visually by displaying a
lock in the status bar of your browser.

The eMarkaz payment system in association with
WorldPay.com uses a combination of both
established and innovative techniques to ensure
the security and integrity of all sensitive
data. Furthermore, our public web servers are
certified by Thawte, a public Certificate
Authority, ensuring that both the shopper and
retailer can have confidence that nobody can
impersonate WorldPay to obtain confidential
information.
Transaction Encryption
The transfer of the purchase details from the
eMarkaz site to Worldpay are encapsulated using
our own encrypted and digitally-signed protocol.
This uses a combination of standard methods such
as PGP, RSA and MD5 to ensure that the
information passed is secure and tamper-proof.
Security for the Shopper
Any communication between the shopper and
WorldPay is also encrypted to the maximum
strength supported by the shopper's browser
using TLS or 128 Bit SSL. Shopper are also
protected from fraudulent use of their card in a
"card not present" environment, by their card
issuers. The card issuers provides the right for
shopper to dispute a transaction if the
goods/services did not arrive or if the card was
used fraudulently.
Data Storage
Data storage on WorldPay systems, and the
communication between WorldPay and the worldwide
banking networks, is regularly audited by the
banking authorities to ensure a secure
transaction environment. We also ensure that we
stay up-to-date with the latest versions of any
third-party code we use, and continually review
our own proprietary code.
Privacy
You should be assured that the information
you provide during an online transaction is
treated confidentially, and not disclosed to a
third party. eMarkaz's payment processor
WorldPay has adopted a set of guidelines to
protect our users' privacy, which comply with
the Data Protection Act 1998.
We do not provide or sell your details to third
parties unless you have specifically requested
that we do so, in order that these advertisers
and/or third parties can offer you information,
goods and services that may be of interest to
you.
